On 9th December 2024 the full governing body met and unanimously agreed our conversion to become an academy. This means that from 1st January 2025 Millbrook, along with six other schools, will form the brand new Ambition Community Trust. Joining in partnership initially are three further schools with a view to becoming full members next year.
We have chosen to join a new Trust that will allow us to keep our autonomy and give us a strong voice as well as offer a further tier of support. I have met and will continue to meet regularly with the Trust Heads to ensure that we are shaping our own future whilst at the same time safeguarding the school, staff and children’s very best interests. This is rare and something to be celebrated.
In terms of the day to day running of the school you will see very little change. When we open our doors on the 6th January we will still be Millbrook Primary and Nursery School. Our values, ethos, offer and curriculum will be the same. Our uniform will be the same. Our school dinners will be the same. Wraparound and after school clubs will remain the same. We will continue to use Class Dojo.
I know all change is uncomfortable but, if our school stands still, it becomes extremely vulnerable. I’m confident we are doing the right thing for our school. I want the very best for Millbrook. I remain completely committed to Millbrook and the wonderful community we have created together.
Here’s to a brighter, stronger future.
Miss Turner, the Millbrook Governing Body and the Whole School Team.
