At Millbrook, we believe that reading is a crucial life skill for every child to acquire, as it underpins all learning across the curriculum.

Below you will find some recommended reading lists. Some of the texts chosen are tried and tested classics; noteworthy books for many years. Our aim is to give your child as wide and as rich a reading experience as possible. Please use these lists as a guide or reference to either borrow books from your local library or to purchase some new ones. All of the books listed should be easily available in most bookstores or online.

Not every book on the recommendation lists will appeal to every child, but have a look and see if you can find some that can support and inspire your child to develop a love for reading.
